The Start of Something New

I have been tempted by the knitalong at The Sexy Knitters Club and have started the Tree Jacket, another great pattern from the Zephyr girls. I bought some of the lovely Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in scarlet - and am impressed with the quality of the yarn. The postal strike however has interrupted the arrival of my first bamboo circular needles, and I have casted on using metal needles. I love the feeling of bamboo - it seems a bit more organic somehow. Hmmm - that's interesting - can you buy organically certified knitting needles? Anyways, the bamboo gives me a nice warm feeling - metal always seems a bit cold!
